When will I get a confirmation email?

You will get the information that your application was successful after you sign up. A few days before the exam we will contact you.

Do I need to have a MacBook computer?

For JS & Angular, .Net, Spring & Kotlin, Ruby on Rails, Android and Flutter courses a personal laptop is mandatory, but it doesn’t need to be a MacBook. For the iOS course, we will be supplying MacBooks, or you can use your own if you have it.

Is it possible to attend Infinum Academy courses online?

Short answer is YES. Our intention is to hold the Infinum Academy in hybrid mode. Meaning, some students will attend the lectures in person, and others will attend the lectures online. As we are trying to ensure safety of our students and staff, we are closely monitoring epidemiological situation in all participating countries. This means that if the situation gets worse, we might switch everything to online mode for everyone’s safety. In that case, we will notify you on time. 

What are the programming languages you use at the courses?

The programming languages depend on a course. You can read more about it on our blog.

I’m a beginner in programming. How can I prepare for the entrance exam?

You don’t need any particular knowledge of Android, iOS, JavaScript or Backend to do the entrance exam. What you need is basic knowledge of object-oriented programming and to be familiar with Git basics. I’m not a student, and I would like to make a career change, can I apply for a course?

Short answer is YES. However, we have another program that might suit you better. It is called Career Switch. Check it out here, and if you think that would be a good thing for you, fill in the application form. 

I just finished my University, can I apply for a course?

If you just finished your University and you are not employed, you can apply for a course. When filling the application form, choose “Other” in the “Year” option.

I didn’t finish my second year at my University, can I apply for a course?

By completing the first two years of University, students acquire the necessary skills in object-oriented programming to access our entrance exam. However, if you think you have the required skills, you can apply for our program even if you haven’t finished the second year of University. If you pass the entrance examination, you can enroll in one of the courses. When filling the application form, choose the appropriate year in the “Year” option.

I am a high school student/Ph.D. student, can I apply for a course?

You can apply. When filling the application form, choose “Other” in the “Year” option. If you pass the entrance examination, you can enroll in one of the courses.

Is Infinum Academy a free course?

All Infinum Academy courses are 100% free

Is the entrance exam mandatory?

The entrance exam is mandatory for all the development courses, and to apply for the design course you will need to submit your portfolio. 

What are the topics covered in the entrance exam?

For development courses, following knowledge will be needed:

– General coding skills – for loops, branching, variables, operators – through theory and code examples in C
– Basic algorithms like searching (for example, binary), sorting and data structures
– Fundamentals of network communications like TCP or UDP, web and API calls
– HTTP
– Object oriented programming fundamentals – theory, code examples in Java. But Java is used as a tool here, questions could be regarding polymorphism, abstraction, inheritance and similar…

In case you are attending Dev Ops course, following knowledge will be needed:

– Web technologies
– DNS
– Internet protocols
– GNU/Linux
– Docker basics
– Git basics
